Chad McQueen, the son of the belatedly running and theater legend Steve McQueen, has passed in California. He was 63.
The Karate Kid performer and race car driver passed Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Palm Springs. His home assured his death the subsequent day in a message posted to Chad and Steve’s respective Instagram accounts.
“It is with a serious heart that we advise the demise of our father Chad McQueen,” started the information from his missis, Jeanie, and their two children.
Chad famously recreated Dutch in 1984’s The Karate Kid and duplicated the role two years after in The Karate Kid Part II. He even starred in Firepower, Death Ring, and Red Line before exiting the movie industry to follow sports car racing beginning in the 1990s. He completed one final formation in 2001’s Fall: The Price of Silence.
In 1993, Chad matched Jeanie Galbraith and they finally accepted Chase and Madison.
“His remarkable trip as a devoted father to us, along with his tireless commitment to our mom, truly demonstrated a life loaded with love and dedication,” they persisted. “His love for racing not only emphasized his amazing talent but also performed as a way to celebrate his father’s legacy, a testament to the importance instilled in him.”
They added, “He handed his passion, wisdom, and loyalty down to us and we will resume not only his estate but our grandfathers as well.”
Chad was extremely near to his father, who died of cancer in 1980 at age 50.

In 2010, Chad established McQueen Racing. Which creates custom high-performance automobiles, just four years after enduring a near-fatal crash while preparing for the 24 Hours of Daytona race.
