The Deutsches Schauspielhaus has been voted Hamburg Theater of the Year by analysts in the enterprise journal “Theater Heute”. The ancient sequence “Anthropolis” won prizes in many varieties – including Lina Beckmann as the most promising actress.
More than half of the analysts voted for Lina Beckmann. Beckmann defeated this overwhelming prevalence especially in the “Anthropolis” series – particularly with the solo “Laios”, where she emerged on the scene as the narrator, Laios, sphinx, Jocasta, Chrysippos, Theban chorus, Pythia, and Oedipus. NDR Kultur drama critic Katja Weise has witnessed “Laios” double and would protect it a third time. Lina Beckmann is merely great and beyond all, she conveys many various characters to the scene. “Sometimes she is fierce, intense, but also sometimes brash, so sensational.”

In “Laios”, Lina Beckmann stands on the nearly barren stage of the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, sporting black pumps and a straightforward white shirt, and experiences all the feelings of an individual. It tells the account of Laios, the architect of Oedipus, who is subsequently murdered by his son. “It tends to concentrate a sealed theater on herself and give everyone posing there the sense that she is emitting straight to them,” says Franz Wille, editor of the journal “Theater Heute”.
She created her solo in an intimate, trusting partnership with artistic director and manager Karin Beier. “When I met Karin, I had so much consideration and was consistently so excited that I still had to force myself to function,” states the actress. “Then I caught that she brings a lot of what is presented to her and tinkers with it a while.”

The age-old cycle “Anthropolis”, which premiered in Hamburg’s final season, has been marked as “Production of the Year”. With it, creative manager Karin Beier has brought the most prominent founding legends of the history of European culture, which are related to the metropolis, to the stage. They contain confrontations and disasters that still interest us today, says Karin Beier. “In other terms, where there are so numerous huge problem areas. “Anthropolis” Wins Numerous Awards

Therefore, the Schauspielhaus has even been named acting of the year, and Karin Beier in individual was honored. She has been the creative leader since the 2013/14 season. “She conquered Hamburg with skill,” the publication wrote.
