“Harry Potter” performer Bonnie Wright, who recreated the part of Ginny Weasley in the eight-film Warner Bros. is willing to give the Sorting Hat to a new model for HBO’s forthcoming transformation of the J.K. Rowling novels. Rather, she has a few ideas on storylines she expects the TV series to contain that didn’t push it into the authentic films, including key junctures between Ginny and love attraction Harry, originally recreated by Daniel Radcliffe.
“So numerous things. More of the story of the association between Ginny and Harry,” Wright advised Variety during Sunday’s Back to Hogwarts affair at New York’s Grand Central Terminal, where she showed fans in the extended countdown on Sept. 1, the date when Hogwarts learners board the caravan to wizarding academy each year in the “Harry Potter” sequel.
“There are subtle points where they start to fall in love. I feel more of that angle of her personality becoming this whole loyal assistant to Harry and how she comprehends and knows his account and who he is and is the most suitable partner for him. So I only hope we witness that development of that nature — and so numerous qualities. If only we could have had five-hour films. There are so numerous qualities that have junctures I love from the readers — Neville and Luna — so I’m expecting as a lover of the readers that I get to visit more.”
While Wright has no detailed advice to show the latest cast members — whom HBO is presently exploring — as she likes them to handle freely to explore the parts in their way, she does expect a “bit more force” for the young players taking on Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and more iconic personalities.

“When we were creating them, we didn’t understand where ‘Harry Potter’ was running. And at the moment, there wasn’t sociable media, and there wasn’t as much key to public view, so it was type of a little bump within itself,” Wright stated. “But I consider that it is a delightful chance to have their understanding of it. I don’t believe I would have any direction, to be fair, because I believe it’s so essential for them to be on their planet and their understanding of it.
And I feel that’s so necessary, from an actor’s standpoint, director’s standpoint, to create it their own. So I’m examining along just to being this time on the other flank and being the one managing every week on television, and living the audience. And I wish that the performances feel distinct and alive and new and new.”
Wright even shot down the notion of emerging in HBO’s “Harry Potter” sequel, which is to premiere in 2026, in a diverse role or cameo impression, noting that she wants “that it’s heading to be all new individuals,” and “it might be a shred confusing” if the authentic cast appears in a separate capacity. “It might be strange. So no, I’m merrily just heading to be watching,” she spoke.
Instead, Wright has entered Food Network’s forthcoming “Harry Potter”-themed baking contest, “Wizards of Baking,” as a visitor justice alongside the show’s commentators James and Oliver Phelps, who recreated Ginny’s identical brothers, Fred and George Weasley, in the films.
“I forever love going around, so many recollections oozed through and come around,” Wright said of filming for the Food Network contest on some of the initial “Harry Potter” places that are now employed as tour sites.
